Clare Gascoigne was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1970, she is now based in Lincolnshire having moved to the county in 1992.

Clare specialises in abstract textural work placing a strong emphasis on the use of contrasting colours. Her work is largely imaginative, rarely attempting to reproduce a particular scene or setting.

Since taking a career break to raise her twin daughters, Clare has re-discovered her earlier passion for painting, she is largely self-taught.
